Fidelity

Definition: Faithfulness to a person, cause, or belief, demonstrated by continuing loyalty and support. Example: “He sought only the strictest fidelity to justice.”

Synonyms: loyalty, allegiance, obedience, homage, fealty.

Alternate: Sexual faithfulness to a spouse or partner.

Synonyms: faithfulness, loyalty, constancy; trueheartedness, trustworthiness, dependability, reliability; troth.
Alternate 2: The degree of exactness with which something is copied or reproduced. Example: “The 1949 recording provides reasonable fidelity”
Synonyms: accuracy, exactness, precision, preciseness, correctness; strictness, closeness, faithfulness, authenticity.

What does “fidelity” mean to me?

It seems that this question arises every day. It arises in the form of tests. Tests of faith. Tests of love. Each time I pass the tests I am reminded of the easiest choice I have ever made. It should have been the most difficult – but any choice made from love is easier than that of any other.
